If you thought tattoos are for youngsters, think again. Chuck Helmke and Charlotte Gutenberg, at 81 and 74 years old respectively, are listed as the Most Tattooed Elderly Couple in the Guinness Book of World Records.
But the world recently lost Chuck who passed away on March 12 at his home in Melbourne, Florida. Chuck became the most tattooed senior citizen (male) in 2016. The record stands to date.
Charlotte has 98% of her body covered with tattoos while her husband Chuck had 97.5% of his body covered with tattoos.
Earlier, Charlotte had told Guinness Book of World Records authorities that almost her entire body was full of tattoos, and only her face and a small part of her hands remain unmarked.
According to reports, Chuck happened to be there during Charlotte's first-ever tattoo session, and he helped her through the pain. That's how their bond developed.
Between them, Chuck and Charlotte spent around 2,000 hours being tattooed.
That they always got attention was an understatement, but feedbacks were often negative - even malicious and vicious. But the couple had maintained it never bothered them.
According to reports, now that her husband is no more, Charlotte doesn't want to have another relationship.
