A freediving couple broke the record for the longest underwater kiss by exchanging it for four minutes and six seconds.
The previous record for the longest underwater kiss was broken on February 4 at a five-star resort in the Maldives by South African Beth Neale and Canadian Miles Cloutier.
The previous record, which was three minutes and 24 seconds, was established 13 years ago in Italy, according to Guinness World Records.
Neale taught Cloutier how to freedive, which is diving without breathing apparatus, in Bermuda, where the pair first met about five years ago.
They later got married and have a daughter, who is now 18 months old.
While they were dating, they travelled the globe together while making freediving films that they uploaded to a shared Instagram.
Three years ago, they first set their sights on breaking the world record.
But when Neale learned that she was expecting their first child, they postponed their plan since they didn't want to try anything risky that would hurt the unborn child.
But last Christmas, the parents made the decision to move forward with the plans in time for Valentine's Day, with 18-month-old Neve by their sides.
Two weeks before they travelled to Lux South Ari Atoll Resort in the Maldives, they started practising for the challenge in their South African home pool.
