Afghanistan (44.4% GEI)

Afghanistan currently has the worst GEI in the world. The country also ranks among the highest for gender-based violence. 35 out of every 100 women are exposed to violence. It's GEI stands at 44.4%.

Yemen (49.2% GEI)

Yemen is one of the Worst Places in the World to be a Woman. While the conflict in Yemen has had a horrific impact on all civilians, women have been disproportionately affected.

Iraq (53.5% GEI)

War, sectarian violence, culture and debates on Islamic law have affected the standing of women in Iraq. Violence against women is common in Iraq according to U.N. It's GEI stands at 53.5%.

Pakistan (55.6% GEI)

Pakistan has low levels of financial inclusion for women (7%). Just an estimated employment rate of just over 21% for women. It's GEI stands at 55.6%.

Syria (56.8% GEI)

Iran (58.2% GEI)

Mali (59.1% GEI)

Mali has one of the world's worst health-care for women. Only 9% of women have parliamentary roles. Mali's GEI stands at 59.1%

Chad (59.3% GEI)

Chad is one of lowest rated country in Gender Equality Index. Chad also has the second-highest maternal mortality rate in the world, with 1,140 deaths for every 100,000 live births. Its GEI stands at 59.3%.

Saudi Arabia (60.3% GEI)

Saudi Arabia is considered one of the world's most gender-segregated countries. There are many restrictions on women like Dress codes, Choosing to have an abortion and more.
