Three Andhra Pradesh officials held for accepting bribes

Three officials of the Andhra Pradesh government were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly accepting bribes of Rs 10,000 each in separate incidents.

Vijayawada: Three officials of the Andhra Pradesh government were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly accepting bribes of Rs 10,000 each in separate incidents, an Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) official said.

In the first incident, Assistant Food Inspector B Srinivas Reddy (56) was nabbed in Kurnool town when he was allegedly accepting Rs 10,000 from the complainant, a businessman.

The official said Reddy had allegedly sought the money for not taking any action against the businessman's food stall at the RTC bus station in the town.

In separate incidents in East Godavari and Krishna districts, two Village Revenue Officers (VROs), identified as V Ramudu and Ch Daniel, posted in Mulastanam Agraharam and Katrenipadu villages, were nabbed while accepting Rs 10,000 each as bribe from the complainants.

The three officials were produced before a local court, which remanded them in police custody.
