PITCH REPORT - Samuel Badree and Curtly Ambrose analyze the pitch, noting the small boundary dimensions - 69 meters straight down the ground and 67 to 70 meters square of the wicket. They describe the surface as having a good covering of grass with a few barren patches. The pitch is hard and expected to offer some bounce, setting the stage for a balanced contest between bat and ball.

Shai Hope, the captain of West Indies says that they would have bowled first anyway. Adds that as it is an early morning start, there will be moisture and it will be a big factor but they need to exploit it well. Mentions that the England series was good but they will take one game at a time and wants to continue the momentum in this format.
