Indian National Congress candidate Bhupesh Baghel won the Patan Constituency Election 2023 with 19723 votes. BJP's Vijay Baghel trailled behind at 75715 votes. The Bharatiya Janata Party and the Indian National Congress both showcased their prominence in the Chitrakot Constituency Election this year.

His BJP opponent, Motilal Sahu, garnered 56,875 votes, losing by a margin of 27,477 votes. Following this victory, Bhupesh Baghel went on to become the third Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh."
