Mathura: Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani on Saturday accused the Congress of taking sides with those who supported convicted terrorists like Afzal Guru, Maqbool Bhat and Yakub Menon in the garb of freedom of speech and said that it's very unfortunate for the country.

In an indirect jibe to the party's vice president, she said, “There is one politician who has been an MP for the past 10 years, thanks to his mother's blessings, but he failed to show any good work in his own constituency.”

She also questioned his status of a youth leader, saying that “There is one politician who calls himself a youth leader but his age is rapidly inching towards 50.”
