AHMEDABAD: A mid-air engine failure forced the Lucknow-bound IndiGo flight to turn back to Ahmedabad. Over 186 passengers were onboard.
The incident took place on Monday morning.
The flight took off from Ahmedabad airport around 9.21 am. Mid-air engine failure forced the pilot to make an emergency landing. At around 10:04 am, the flight landed at Ahmedabad airport.
According to airport officials, the plane suffered a technical fault.
In January this year, Bengaluru-bound IndiGo flight (6E 565) returned to Mumbai airport minutes after take-off, allegedly because of engine failure.
Later, in February, the airline grounded three A320 neo aircraft due to engine problems, which also resulted in the cancellation of some flights.
