The more heart-wrenching fact is that Sai Sri lost her life to the terminal illness on May 14.

In the video, Sai Sri could be seen begging her father to sell their house for her treatment, who was suffering from bone marrow cancer.

Sai Sri was first diagnosed with cancer on August 27, 2016.

"'Daddy. You say that you don't have money. At least we have this house. Please sell this house and pay for my treatment daddy. Or else, they (doctors) say that I won't survive for long. Please do something and save me," Sai Sri says in the video.

Sai Sri's father Madamsetti Siva Kumar had abandoned his wife Suma Sri and daughter eight years ago, reported Oneindia.

According to reports, Sai Sri lived with her mother in Vijayawada, while her father resided in Bengaluru.

Before separation, the couple had purchased a flat in the name of their daughter Sai Sri.

Suma alleged that when Sai Sri's mother tried to sell the house to raise money for her daughter's treatment, her husband stopped her with the help of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and didn't let her sell it.

The Andhra Pradesh Police refused to file a complaint against the goons send by Shiv Kumar, as they were reportedly supported by the MLA, said ANI.

Here is the video:

"We have filed a petition in Human Rights Commission regarding the case. We have appealed to initiate action," Achyuta Rao, president, Balala Hakkula Sangam, told ANI.

Taking note of the situation that the father didn't spend the money even though he could afford it, the State Human Rights Commission ordered the city Commissioner of Police to submit a detailed report on the incident.

With the video having gone viral across the nation now, a cry of outrage is spreading over the father's shocking insensitivity and apathy towards his own child.
