IAF chopper with three onboard goes missing in Arunachal Pradesh
The IAF ALH chopper with three crew members was deployed for lifting people stranded due to road blockage between Sagalee & Itanagar.
Itanagar: An Indian Air Force light weight helicopter (HAL Dhruv) with three on board went missing near Sagalee in Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday, PTI quoted a Defence source as saying.
The IAF ALH chopper with three crew members was deployed for lifting people stranded due to road blockage between Sagalee & Itanagar.
As per a CNN News18 report, the chopper was flying with flood relief packages from Itanagar to Naharlgar and was last in contact at 3:30 pm today.
Earlier today, a chopper carrying Union Minister of State Kiren Rijiju on board made an emergency landing in Itanagar due to the bad weather.
''Weather turbulent in North-East.I'm safe but whole State machinery geared up to locate IAF ALH chopper missing almost at same time'' ANI quoted MoS Kiren Rijiju as saying.
''Andhra Pradesh CM Pema Khandu and state government is mobilizing local people to locate missing IAF helicopter which was on a rescue mission in AP'' added Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju.
