Tirupati: Authorities went into a tizzy after smoke was noticed emanating from a bus carrying Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu here on Friday.

Naidu was proceeding from Reningunta airport to Tirupati in a special bus when thick smoke emanated from the vehicle's cabin, police said.


The driver stopped the bus immediately and the chief minister was shifted to a bullet proof car coming behind in the convoy.


The cause for the smoke in the bus is being ascertained, police said.


Naidu later inaugurated a new building constructed at a cost of Rs 43 crore as part of expansion of Orthopedic Super Speciality Hospital for the Disabled run by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) here.
