New Delhi: PM Modi was bang on target when he said, while launching BHIM app, that the world will Google for it". The app is no doubt popular, and has broken record of sorts. It overtaken some popular apps like WhatsApp, MyJio, Messenger and Facebook among others in downloads on Google Play Store.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, December 30, launched a new e-wallet app, BHIM, named after founding father Dr BR Ambedkar, to make digital transactions easier online. The Aadhaar-based mobile payment application will allow people to make digital payments directly from their bank accounts.
Despite users facing a few issues, the app has managed to garner over two million downloads in a very short time. Former Aadhaar chairman Nandan Nilekani took to Twitter to express his happiness about the app’s debut.
