New Delhi: WhatsApp users will soon be able to send and share all types of files.
So long, many files could not be shared on WhatsApp and users had to upload them on cloud before sharing it.
This sometimes also involved third-party apps for sending and sharing of a lot of file types.
The new feature, which is still in the testing phase, was first spotted by WABetainfo.
WABetainfo has claimed that WhatsApp is testing support for all types of files for Android, iOS and Windows Phone and the update will be rolled out in the coming months.
Reportedly, the file sharing limit for iOS will be 128MB while Android users will get 100MB limit.
The new file formats will include MP3 and APK files.
Early this month, WhatsApp announced new album, filter features as well as a reply shortcut for iPhone users.
With the new reply shortcut, users can now simply swipe right on any message and start typing response.
The messaging platform also updated its "Status" feature that allows users to share images and videos with their contacts on WhatsApp in a secure way recently.
