The all-new 2017 Maruti Swift DZire is rearing to hit showrooms across the country by the end of this month, or, latest, by early May. The bookings for the same have started, albeit unofficially, at an advance payment of Rs 10,000 - Rs 21,000 at select dealerships in Mumbai and Delhi. The prices of the new model are likely to shoot up a bit, courtesy the host of features making way into the compact sedan.
Earlier this month, we spotted the new DZire without any camouflage. Expectedly, the front is almost similar to the upcoming third-generation Swift, with slight alterations. There’s a radical departure from the current DZire in terms of styling and the 2017 DZire looks far more appealing and proportionate.
The new Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire is not only about visual changes, it gets a host of features too. For instance, it will be featuring daytime running lights along with projector headlamps, probably LEDs. A redesigned bumper, outlining chrome garnishing on the front grille, high-set boot, shark-fin antenna and the possible LED tail lamps are part of the package.
The interiors have gone a notch higher in terms of premium-ness in the new DZire; it gets black and beige upholstery, flat-bottom steering and the highlight – Suzuki’s SmartPlay 7.0-inch infotainment system. This system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The mechanicals are likely to be carried forward from the present Maruti Swift DZire. It will be equipped with the same 1.3-litre DDiS diesel and the 1.2-litre K-series petrol engines.
With the launch of the new DZire, the compact sedan (CS) rivalry will enter its second phase, as now we have a new promising player in the name of the Tata Tigor; plus the Hyundai Xcent is also getting a major update in this month. However, with a perennially strong demand for the Maruti Swift DZire, the race in the CS segment is likely to be for the second spot, as always.
