In terms of looks, the refreshed A3 gets Audi’s new hexagonal front grille, new and sharper headlamp design, tweaked front bumper which houses slimmer set of air vents, restyled 16-inch alloy wheels and modified internal detailing in the tail lamps. The new petrol motor is now a 1.4-litre TFSI unit, which is the same as the one found in the A3 Cabriolet. It is tuned produce 150PS of power and 250Nm of torque. While this engine produces 30PS less than the one produced by the 1.8-litre petrol mill, the torque figure remains exactly the same. The petrol motor will come mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission and the diesel mill with six-speed DSG.

Once launched, the updated A3 will renew its rivalry with its one and only direct competitor, the Mercedes-Benz CLA. Price-wise, the Audi A3 will fall in a similar price bracket as the Skoda Superb, which is between the Rs 26-33 lakh range.
