Harley-Davidson, the most popular leisure motorcycle brand in India, has launched its 2017 motorcycle models in India on Tuesday.
The updated line-up includes the updated models of the bikes which were already available in the market along with the all-new roadster, which has very different characteristics as compared to the other H-D bikes.
All the 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycles now come equipped with ABS as a standard feature while the touring range and CVO Limited also gets new Milwaukee-Eight V-twins.
Introduced in April this year, the Roadster is the latest member of Harley-Davidson family. Based on the popular Forty-Eight model, it is a street tracker type machine with a wide, flattered handlebar and little rear-set foot pegs, providing a sporty riding posture. Apart from that, aggressive looks of the bike come from the minimalistic design approach including chopped fenders. The bike shares the same 1,200cc, Evolution V-Twin, delivering 96Nm of torque, with its sibling. However, it gets some higher specification components like inverted front forks, dual front disc brakes and larger wheels. Besides the advanced features and sporty design, the bike retains the authentic Harley-Davidson DNA as well.
The 2017 Harley Davidson CVO has been updated with a new engine from the company's new Milwaukee-Eight V-Twins, having 4-valve heads. The CVO gets Milwaukee-Eight 114 which is larger in displacement as compared to its predecessor and delivers 10 per cent more torque at almost similar rev-range. The motor generates 165Nm at just 3,250rpm and claims an enhanced fuel economy as well. Being the flagship bike in the company's portfolio, the CVO Limited comes loaded with high-end features like keyless ignition and BOOM! Box 6.5GT infotainment system along with obvious benefits of adjustable suspension setup and high-performance Brembo brakes with ABS.
The 2017 Road Glide Special, Street Glide Special and the Road King in the Harley-Davidson Touring range also have been updated with a new engine which is bigger than that of the previous generation bikes and has 10 per cent better performance. The new 1,745cc, Milwaukee-Eight 107 V-twin provides 150Nm of peak torque to these machines coming at just 3,250rpm.
