Man brutally beats 10-year-old son for lying, arrested; mother shoots video

BENGALURU: Bengaluru police on Saturday arrested a man for brutally beating his son, who allegedly lied to his mother. In a disturbing video shot by the mother, the boy was seen pleading to his father for mercy.

The man, who is in his thirties, first stroke the 10-year old boy's hand with a mobile charger and then lifted him up and slammed him down on the bed. The father kicked his son on the floor of the room and threatened him of thrashing him further if he lies again.

The clip went viral on the social media and was shot so that it could be shown to the boy again to remind him about the punishment. The incident had reportedly taken place two months ago.

A media report suggests that the incident came under light after the mother gave her phone to a mobile repair shop. The shopkeeper who came across the video sought the help of a NGO and informed the police.

Police have registered a complaint and have arrested the father under the Juvenile Justice Act.
