According to ANI, the Bengaluru's serving police chief, Praveen Sood, has been transferred.

Sood, who had taken charge on January 1 earlier this year, has been posted as the ADGP Communications, Logistics and Modernisation.

It is still not clear on what grounds Sood has been transferred. In view of the ongoing anti-Hindi protests in the city, Sood had reportedly asked Kannada supporters to protest in a peaceful manner and nit to take law into their hands.

Kumar, a 1989 batch IPS officer, has been serving as the Chairman and Managing Director of the Karnataka State Police Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (KSPH&IDCL).

KSPH&IDCL is an ISO 9001-2008 certified Government of Karnataka company.

KSPH&IDCL was established on June 17, 1985 with an objective of providing better infrastructure facilities to Police and Fire Services in Karnataka.
