780 kg ganja seized, two held Bihar's Vaishali district

Hajipur: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the special task force (STF) on Wednesday seized 780 kg cannabis from a truck and arrested two persons in connection with it from Bihar's Vaishali district on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip off, a joint team of the NCB and STF from the state capital Patna intercepted a truck near the Vaishali district jail premises and seized the consignment of cannabis, the NCB Inspector PN Singh said.

The seized contraband is estimated to cost Rs 80 lakh in the international market, he said.

Singh said the consignment had been transported here from the north-east.

The two drivers of the truck have been arrested and the vehicle impounded for probe, he added.
