Patna Nagar Nigam Election 2017: Voting underway in Patna Municipal Corporation/PMC Election; list of winners declared so far

Patna: Counting of votes is underway, Friday, in the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) to elect ward councillors.

Polling for PMC took place on June 04 and passed off peacefully, barring some stray incidents with around 46 percent voter turnout.

Out of the total 1,008 candidates in fray for 75 seats, 88 candidates are facing criminal cases.

Here is the list of winners announced so far:

- Chatiya Devi - Ward No 1

- Madhu Chaurasia - Ward No 2

- Prabha Devi - Ward No 3

- Dipa Rani Khan - Ward No 5

- Abhishek Kumar - Ward No 9

- Geeta Devi - Ward No 10

- Savita Sinha – Ward No 12

- Jeet Kumar – Ward No 13

- Pinki Kumari - Ward No 21

- Rani Sinha - Ward No 31

- Ashish Kumar Sinha - Ward No 38

- Bharti Devi - Ward No 39

- Kanchan Devi - Ward No 41

- Poonam Sharma - Ward No 46

- Satish Kumar - Ward No 47

- Indradeep Kumar Chandravanshi - Ward No 48

- Kanchan Kumar - Ward No 55

- Kismati Devi - Ward No 56

- Smita Rani - Ward No 57

- Sita Sahu - Ward No 58

On June 04, polling was also held in 17 wards of Barsoi Nagar Panchayat in Katihar district besides one ward (ward number 32) of Munger Municipal Corporation.

Voter turnout was 71 percent in Barsoi Nagar Panchayat while the turnout was 62 percent in ward number 32 of Munger Municipal Corporation.

Polling was conducted at 75 wards of PMC where 46 percent of 16,65,017 voters exercised their franchise at 1,512 polling stations.

Prominent among those who cast their votes included RJD chief Lalu Prasad, his wife Rabri Devi, his minister son Tej Pratap Yadav, senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi and others.

Chouhan, who was accompanied by Commission's Secretary Durgesh Nandan, said that the polling was hampered for a few minutes at some polling booths in the state capital due to EVMs developing some problems. Polling was conducted after replacing the EVMs.
