PATNA: An FIR has been registered against Union Minister Giriraj Singh in Danapur Police Station in connection with a land deal case.
The FIR was lodged on Wednesday on the direction of the Patna Civil Court. Cases have also been filed against 32 other people.
As per the FIR registered, Giriraj Singh has been accused of forcibly grabbing two acres of land in Danapur.
Following the incident, RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav took to Twitter and said, "A complaint has been lodged against Union Minister Giriraj Singh for allegedly forcibly taking possession of 2 Acres 56 Dissol land in Patan's Court of Patan (Dt. 54/2018) in Danapur Police Station. The crores of crores of rupees in the house of this minister were also seized. But still honest because there is no news."
Taking a dig at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government he said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi, does your government talk about this honesty where instead of giving homes to poor, your Cabinet minister snatch their land? Please take it up at your level as the minister might ask these poor people to go to Pakistan."
The RJD leader also hit out at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and questioned him whether he would end his alliance with BJP following the accusation of Giriraj, who is a leader of the ruling party.
Calling for the immediate resignation of Giriraj Singh, Tejashwi Yadav asked where the custodians of morality have hidden. He further attacked Bihar BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi over his silence on the issue.
