Fazal Haq Quereshi, the negotiator between Indian authorities and the Kashmiri militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen has confirmed that 6 Hizbul Mujahideen commenders are meeting Indian Army officials on Saturday. The meeting is shrouded in secrecy and no mediaperson has been given any information. However, it is believed that the meeting has been called to work out the modalities of implementing the ceasefire on the ground. There are reports that the army will prevail upon the Hizb militants about continuing attacks on groups that are opposed to the talks and indulge in violence. The HM is likely not only to agree to this condition but also extend the ceasefire deadline of AUG 8, which it had given if Indian authorities failed to respond positively to the outfit’s offer of ceasefire and talks on July 24.
