New Delhi: Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 released on November 29 in multiple languages. The film is sequel to the 2010 super-hit film 'Robot' that had Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles.
2.0 opened with 10,500 screens worldwide which makes it the biggest release of an Indian film beating Prabhas starrer Baahubali 2, which had released in 9000 screens.
After the film's release, all eyes are now set on the first day collections of the film. As per a Bollywoodlife.com report, the first day collections of the Hindi version are expected to be around Rs 20-25 crore. The Tamil one is expected to be around 30-35 crore and the Telugu version to be around 10-15 crore. Looking at all the three languages collections, the film is expected to earn between 60-75 crore, as per the report.
The report further adds that going by the theatre occupancy in India and overseas, 2.0 day 1 collection may go past this number as well and smash records that are set by films like Baahubali and Dangal.
Robot 2.0 is directed by Shankar and bankrolled by Lyca Productions. It also stars Amy Jackson, Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey in pivotal roles.
The film has Bollywood's 'Khiladi', Akshay Kumar playing a negative role. The actor has undergone massive transformation to do justice to his character and his look in the film is absolutely mind-blowing.
2.0 is a visual extravaganza with enchanting VFX and is one of the most expensive Indian films ever made. The makers of the 3D film have reportedly spent a whopping 75 million dollars on the VFX which amounts to Rs 543 crores approximately.
