Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to clash with Salman Khan at Box Office on Eid next year?

Mumbai: The makers of Aishwarya Rai and Anil Kapoor starrer – Fanney Khan – have announced the release date of the film. The Rakeysh Omprakash production will hit the silverscreen on Eid, a festive slot usually dominated by Salman Khan’s film. Interestingly, Salman Khan’s next – Race 3 – too is expected to release on the same day.

Directed by Atul Majrekar, Fanney Khan will release on June 15 and will clash with Salman’s Race 3 helmed me choreographer-turned -filmmaker Remo D’Souza.

Jointly produced by KriArj Entertainment, T-Series and ROMP Pictures, Fanney Khan also stars Rajkummar Rao and Divya Dutta. The film promises to show Aishwarya in a never-seen-before avatar.

Salman’s Race 3, the third instalment of the super-hot franchise Race previously helmed by Abbas-Mustan has Jacqueline Fernandez, Saqib Saleem, Daisy Shah and Bobby Deol on board.

Though the makers of Race 3 haven’t yet announced the release date of the film, it is likely that it will make a splash in theatres on Eid. Salman has had a number of Eid releases since 2009 - Wanted in 2009, Dabangg in 2010, Bodyguard in 2011, Ek Tha Tiger in 2012, Kick in 2014, Bajrangi Bhaijaan in 2015, Sultan in 2016 and Tubelight in 2017. Apart from Tubelight, all other Eid releases of Salman have created waves at the Box Office by doing brisk business.

For the uninitiated, Aishwarya is Salman’s former ladylove. And now that Race 3 and Fanney Khan may clash at the Box Office, it will be interesting to see who wins the battle.
