New Delhi: The National Award winning actor Akshay Kumar has been choosing some interesting scripts which majorly bring out the social issues prevalent in our society. The Khiladi Kumar has begun shoot for his upcoming project 'Padman' which again is based on a man named Arunachalam Muruganantham, whose initiative to invent low-cost sanitary pad making machines in rural India helped not only his wife but other women in his village to lead a hygienic life.
‘Padman’ will be produced by Akki's better half Twinkle Khanna, making it her maiden production venture and will be helmed by R Balki. Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte will play important roles in the film.
Twinkle recently took to Twitter and shared a picture of the reel 'Padman' meeting the real one on film sets. Yes! Akki and Tina met Arunachalam Muruganantham and his family. He even held the clapboard of the film on sets.

Interestingly, Twinkle had mentioned about the story of 'Padman' aka Arunachalam in the final short story titled ‘The Sanitary Man from A Scared Land’ in her second novel ‘The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad’.
