'Happy Bhaag Jayegi' sequel on cards

New Delhi: Putting a rest to all the rumours, Bollywood filmmaker Mudassar Aziz recently confirmed that a sequel to 'Happy Bhaag Jayegi' is on the cards. The original - Abhay Deol, Diana Penty and Jimmy Shergill – made quite a buzz. This is the reason why the franchise has been decided to be taken forward.

According to PTI, Mudassar said in a statement, "I wasn't thinking of a sequel while making the first film, it was the encouraging feedback from the audience that set the ball rolling." 

"I was working on another story when the idea of a sequel to "Happy.." struck me in September. I discussed it with Rai saab who suggested I work on it and see what comes out. By October-end, I had a story which he really liked," he further said.

However, the details of the script are yet to be finalised.

'Happy Bhaag Jayegi' also featured Momal Sheikh, Ali Fazal and Piyush Mishra in the lead. It released on August 19 last year. After witnessing its success, a lot of cinema lovers were speculating its sequel. 

The upcoming movie will take the spirit of 'Happy' forward. Excited much?
