New Delhi: When former chairman of the CBFC, Pahlaj Nihalani decided to be the distributor of a film like Julie 2, several eyebrows were raised. Further controversy evoked when he called Julie 2 a 'very clean, adult movie'. As per the latest developments, it doesn't look like his troubles are ending soon.
According to a Bollywoodlife.com report, NR Pachisia, who produced Julie, starring Neha Dhupia in 2004, has sued Nihalani and Deepak Shivdasani, the director owing to trademark and copyright breach. Bollywoodlife.com reports that Pachisia has claimed the rights to the film as well as the title. No one can take the Julie franchise ahead except Pachisia.
Reportedly, Pachisia has approached the Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association (IMPPA) and has also filed a case at the Mumbai High Court. A stay on the film has also been demanded.
