New Delhi: Sujoy Ghosh's intense thriller drama 'Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh' hit the screens on December 2, 2016, and received a somewhat mixed response from the audiences.

Although 'Kahaani 2' has been praised for its direction and impeccable acting by Vidya Balan and Arjun Rampal—the lack of a solid storyline and predictable climax did affect the final outcome.


The original 'Kahaani' was a superhit and had received a great response from the classes and masses alike. Noted film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and shared the weekend box office collections.


He wrote: “#Kahaani2 had further 19.69% growth on Sun... Fri 4.25 cr, Sat 5.79 cr, Sun 6.93 cr. Total: ₹ 16.97 cr [1235 screens]. India biz.”
