New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's upcoming venture 'Tiger Zinda Hai' is eying a massive opening across the nation, given the kind of craze the actor holds in the country.

But looks like it's not going to be a smooth ride for the Khan of all seasons as Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has reportedly written to the cinema owners in Mumbai over 'Tiger Zinda Hai' getting maximum screens while Marathi film 'Deva' releasing on the same date not getting a fair deal.

MNS leader, Shalini Thackeray told ANI, “Marathi films must be given prime time shows. 'Deva' wasn't given screen space against 'Tiger Zinda Hai'. If Hindi film industry takes screen space at expense of Marathi films, we'll oppose it. Haven't threatened anyone, want screen space for Deva.”

'Deva Ek Atrangee' is directed by Murali Nallappa and stars Ankush Chaudhari in the lead. The film also stars Tejaswini Pandit, Spruha Joshi and Paddy Kamble in pivotal parts.

'Tiger Zinda' stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles and is helmed by 'Sultan' director Ali Abbas Zafar. The film brings back the jodi of Salman and Kat after a gap of five long years. It is an actioner which happens to be a sequel to 2012 blockbuster hit 'Ek Tha Tiger'.

On previous occasions too, several Hindi films have seen strong opposition from the party. Movies such as 'My Name Is Khan' and 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' are the recent examples to name a few.
