The actor, who is often referred to as a bundle of energy, is indeed producers’ hot favourite. And the latest about the actor is that he will play Kapil Dev in a film based on the Cricket World Cup victory in 1983.

Reports suggest that Arjun Kapoor was initially being considered for the role but now his real-life BFF and ‘Gunday’ co-star will play the former cricket all-rounder.

According to DNA, Anurag Kashyap will produce the film while Kabir Khan will direct it.

In a span of about 6 years or so, Ranveer has created a niche for himself in the film industry and he is going places both literally and other wise.

Though there’s no official announcement yet, we look forward to seeing him play Kapil Dev on the silverscreen.
