Mumbai: And the wait ends now. Akshay Kumar has finally made a splash on the silverscreen as an unusual ‘superhero’ named– PadMan. The hunk of a superstar, who is all set to narrate the inspiring story of Padma Shri awardee Arunachalam Muruganantham, will be seen romancing Radhika Apte in the film. The R Balki directorial also features Sonam Kapoor as a social activist.
PadMan was initially slated to release on January 25 but was postponed after the makers of Padmaavat approached Akshay Kumar requesting him to push his film. And now that the day has arrived, we are sure Akki fans will be delighted to see him as a common man with an exceptional vision.
Ritika Handoo of Zeenews.com is watching first day first show to review the film for you.

Akshay’s wife Twinkle Khanna, who is an interior-decorator/author, has turned a film producer with this venture. She had written about Muruganantham in a short story titled The Sanitary Man from A Scared Land in her second novel The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad.
During an interview with BBC, Twinkle while talking about menstruation and the taboo attached to it worldwide said that it took her a lot of time to convince Arunachalam to give her his consent for making the film. It was only after repeated requests, the man, who keeps low key, agreed to give his nod.
