New Delhi: Anushka Sharma's recent release 'Phillauri' had a decent start, especially in the Northern belt of the country. In the film, Anushka plays a friendly ghost who has some unfinished business to settle.
'Phillauri' has collected 4.02 crore nett on day one giving it a decent push. North India has contributed 52 percent of the total Phillauri collections! Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios said, "Phillauri is a high concept film with a big heart and we are happy with the start that it has had on day one. The film has good word of mouth and it will grow today. It is a fun, family entertainer and a perfect weekend watch for audiences across all age-groups."
'Phillauri' was made at a cost of 21 crore and has already recovered 12 crore from satellite and music rights, making it a profitable venture.
The comedy-drama stars Diljit Dosanjh, 'Life Of Pi' actor Suraj Sharma and Mehreen Pirzada besides Anushka in the lead. 'Phillauri' is helmed by Anshai Lal and is opened in theatres on March 24, 2017. The film has been produced by Fox Star Studios and Clean Slate Films.
