New Delhi: Bollywood's one of the finest finds, Rani Mukerji's comeback vehicle 'Hichki' released this year and it opened to rave reviews and decent Box Office success in the country. The movie which hit the screens in China a few days back has been unstoppable till date at the ticket counters there.
'Hichki' was released in China on October 2 on about 38,000 screens. However later, the screen counts were reduced to 13,808. The film has been turning tabled in the neighbouring country since its release. In fact, it marched past the 100 crore within just 13 days of its release.
The film currently stands with net collection of Rs 153 crore at Chinese Box Office alone.
Noted film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and shared the figures. He wrote: "#Hichki packs a MASSIVE TOTAL in *4 weeks* in #China... Has withstood new releases every single week, yet has managed to stay strong purely on the basis of its strong content... Total till 8 Nov 2018: $ 21.13 mn [₹ 153.13 cr]."
Directed by Sidharth P Malhotra, 'Hichki' is high on content and performance by all the actors.
It has been produced by Maneesh Sharma under Yash Raj Films' banner. It happens to be an adaptation of the book titled 'Front of the Class: How Tourette Syndrome Made Me the Teacher I Never Had' by Brad Cohen, of which Yash Raj Films acquired the rights.
The film shows Rani as Naina Mathur, a teacher who suffers from Tourette Syndrome. Her zest for her profession is so high that no special condition can come in the way of her achieving the dreams she has.
'Hichki' released in India on March 23, 2018, and received a positive word of mouth publicity. The film also stars veteran actors such as Supriya and Sachin Pilgaonkar. Rani delivered one of her career-best performance in 'Hichki' after 'Black'.
