New Delhi: On Thursday, people woke up to the sad news of veteran actress Reema Lagoo's death. It is being said that the 59-year-old star passed away at 3 am following arrest.

The 'Tu Tu Main Main' actress was admitted to the Kokilaben Hospital last night after she complained of chest pain. 

Reema, who had divorced actor Vivek Lagoo, is survived by her daughter, Mrunmayee Lagoo, 35, who is a film and stage actress and theatre director.

Her funeral is expected to take place later on Thursday evening near her home in Andheri west.

As always, Reema essayed the role of a doting mom in this film too. But, what caught the attention of the moviegoers the most is her adorable antics as a cute 'samdhan' to Anupam Kher.

Hum Saath Saath Hain

In this film, Reema spilled an ocean of emotions all over the silver screen as she played a mother who finds herself divided between her children. This was another flick where her screen presence with Salman Khan charmed the viewers.

Kal Ho Naa Ho

In this Nikkhil Advani film, Reema gave the image of Indian mothers a whole new dimension. Here, she played the character of Shah Rukh Khan's mother who supports and strengthens him during his last few days.

Vaastav

Reema played a righteous woman, who takes the life of her own son. Her breakthrough performance also got her nominated in Best Supporting Actress category for Filmfare awards 2000.
