The film, set in the backdrop of the Indo-Sino war of 1962, hasn’t reportedly been able to strike an emotional chord with the audiences despite having a touchy storyline.

When compared to his precious Eid releases, ‘Tubelight’ stands last on the list. The film earned just about Rs 21.15 crores on June 23! ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ (2012), ‘Kick’ (2014), ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ (2015) and ‘Sultan’ (2016) had garnered better responses at the Box Office.

Trade analyst shared the Box Office collections of his previous Eid releases to substantiate the fact that ‘Tubelight’ couldn’t live up to the hype that was created ahead of its release.

The film has collected about Rs 42.32 Crores (Friday and Saturday) and is likely to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in the next couple of days. But considering it’s a Salman Khan film, the opening has certainly been a dampener of sorts.
