New Delhi: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who has been busy with the post-production work of his upcoming film 'Zero', was said to have given his nod for a biopic on Rakesh Sharma.
He was expected to begin shooting for biopic after completing Anand L Rai's romantic-drama 'Zero', in which he is playing a dwarf. Not many know that Shah Rukh was reportedly recommended by Aamir Khan for the Rakesh Sharma biopic.
Reportedly, the film was originally titled 'Salute' and is scheduled to go on floors early next year. However, as per latest updates, the film is now going to be called 'Saare Jahaan Se Achcha'. The movie will depict the life of the Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma, who was the first Indian to head into outer space. Back in 1984, when the then Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi asked Rakesh Sharma on his return how the country looked from outer space, he had replied saying - 'Saare Jahan Se Achcha'. Perhaps this could be one of the reasons why the makers have decided to name the film with Sharma's statement.
The film is being produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur's new production house, Roy Kapur Films' that is currently producing Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra Starrer 'The Sky is Pink'.
On the other hand, Shah Rukh's ambitious project 'Zero' is all set to open in theatres on December 21, 2018. The makers earlier this year unveiled the teaser and it created a flutter online. Now, all eyes are set on the full-fledged trailer release date. According to Pinkvilla.com, filmmaker Aanand L Rai's best birthday gift to SRK will be unveiling the trailer on latter's birthday—November 2.
'Zero' stars King of Romance SRK in the lead where he will be seen playing a dwarf first time on-screen. The plot follows Khan playing a man of short stature, who falls in love with a superstar played by Katrna Kaif. Anushka Sharma portrays the character of a girl with intellectual disability. The film also marks the last film appearance of Sridevi, who died on February 24, 2018, shortly after completing her sequence in the film.
Produced on a budget of ₹200 crore, 'Zero' is believed to be Shah Rukh's most expensive film till date.
