New Delhi: The gorgeous Sonam Kapoor has some interesting projects in her kitty this year. She will be seen in Twinkle Khanna's maiden production venture 'Padman' as one of the leads and is also busy with sister Rhea Kapoor's 'Veerey Di Wedding' featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan.
There is a lot of buzz around both her projects and while the latter one still has time to kick off, 'Padman' shoot has already begun. According to DNA.com, Sonam is currently learning how to play the Tabla and that too for Akshay Kumar's 'Padman'.
The report mentions that Sonam is currently learning the musical instrument from tabla player and percussionist Mukta Madan Raste. The report quotes the tabla player as saying, “Sonam has been learning how to play the tabla from me.”
Further quoting an insider, the repot states, “As Sonam plays a tabla player in Padman, she is making time to learn the nuances of playing the instrument. Even while travelling, she takes a music book along and finds time to practise on her own. Mukta also has a small role in the film and she plays a sarangi player and trains Sonam, too.
Akshay will next be seen in wifey Twinkle Khanna's maiden production venture titled 'Padman'. The film is based on the real-life incident of Arunachalam Muruganantham—the man whose initiative to invent low-cost sanitary pad making machines in rural India helped not only his wife but other women in his village to lead a hygienic life.
‘Padman’ is being helmed by R Balki where Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte will play important roles. Interestingly, Twinkle had mentioned about the story of 'Padman' aka Arunachalam in the final short story titled ‘The Sanitary Man from A Scared Land’ in her second novel ‘The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad’.
