New Delhi: Filmmaker Kabir Khan's latest release 'Tubelight' created much hype—all thanks to his third outing with Salman Khan on-screen. Despite having a powerful star cast the film failed to create a flutter at the box office.
Both the critics and fans gave it a lukewarm response and that explains why the film struggled to enter the much-coveted Rs 100 crore club after six days. 'Tubelight' also happens to be Sallu bhai's only Eid release which has done an average business, unlike his previous festive releases.
Noted trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted:
. @BeingSalmanKhan 's #Tubelight enters 100 Cr nett domestic Box office club.. 6 days All-India Biz Total - 105.86 Crs Nett..

Despite a mixed response, 'Tubelight' has become Salman's 11th consecutive hit to enter the Rs 100 crore club. His previous ventures namely: Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan, Kick, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg 2, Dabangg, Bodyguard, Ready and Jai Ho easily entered the Rs 100 crore club.
'Tubelight' is directed by Kabir Khan and had Chinese actress Zhu Zhu making her big screen debut. Salman and Sohail Khan's brotherly bond has been much appreciated. Little boy Matin Rey Tangu's act and Salman's innocent play too has evoked many emotions among the viewers.
