Taj sound and light show held in Agra to boost tourism

The Department of Tourism held a sound and light show at Taj Mahal here to boost tourism in the region.

Agra: The Department of Tourism held a sound and light show at Taj Mahal here to boost tourism in the region and promote the country`s history and culture.
Interacting with media persons, Director of Kalakriti Culture Convention, Ashok Jain, said, "When a tourist visits the state, he has some other point of view, but after watching this show, his view changes and he feels that he is taking along a message of love. One will not understand the history by merely visiting the Taj Mahal. However by performing the play practically, one understands the complete story. This play is presently being performed in ten languages and in future we will develop it in more languages." The show featured the love story of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and his third queen Arjumand, known to the world by her title Mumtaz Mahal, with a replica of the Taj in the backdrop. Keeping the diversity of the audience in mind, the organisers of the show provided audio aids at every seat to enable foreign tourists to listen to the translated dialogues of the play in their respective languages. Film and Television actress Sudha Chandran said this was the best-choreographed event she had seen in her life. "There are some events, which makes you feel proud because when we talk about art and culture, then definitely we would talk about India, which is the oldest in art, heritage and culture. I think its one of the best choreographed events that I have come across," Chandran said. The 358-year-old marble mausoleum is India`s most famous tourist attraction, attracting upto four million visitors every year to Agra. ANI
