Have Bachchans buried the hatchet with Bhandarkar?

Mumbai: Ever since Aishwarya Rai was dropped from Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’, things haven’t been the most pleasant between the Bachchans and the director. Aishwarya Rai was dropped from Madhur’s film after the filmmaker learnt that she was five months pregnant. Although, Ash at that point of time had wanted to finish her pending projects before going for maternity leave, Madhur had dropped her from the film. He had also stated in his blog that how he had felt betrayed as he was not made aware of her pregnancy. While Ash maintained a stoic silence on the entire brouhaha, pa-in law Amitabh Bachchan defended his bahu and had said that every actor has a right to get married and have children. Needless to say, since then the family and the filmmaker have avoided crossing each other’s path. So when recently, Madhur was spotted chatting up with Big B, everyone was quite surprised. According to a tabloid, Madhur and Big B spoke for a long time when they met each other at a suburban hotel. An eye-witness told the tabloid, "The cold war is a thing of the past. Bhandarkar actually walked up to Bachchan while he was shooting for a commercial at the hotel. Bachchan looked at him, smiled and met him very warmly. After that, the two were seen chatting quite animatedly. Both appeared very gracious toward each other." "It was difficult to overhear what the two of them were saying but it was clear that they had put the past behind them. While onlookers were surprised, it was quite a heartwarming sight,” added the eye witness. Whether they patched up for good is something we will probably have to wait and watch but what is heartening is the fact that instead of giving each other a cold shoulder, the two actually chatted up!
