Washington: Seth Meyers will be hosting the `Late Night` show next year, replacing Jimmy Fallon.
Bob Greenblatt, Chairman of NBC Entertainment, said that they think that Seth is one of the brightest, most insightful comedy writers and performers of his generation, People magazine reported.
He added that his years at SNL`s `Weekend Update` desk, as a head writer of the show for many seasons, helped him hone a topical brand of comedy that is perfect for the Late Night franchise.
Meyers will take up the role next year in April after Fallon moves to host `The Tonight Show`, replacing Jay Leno.
The Executive producer of `Late Night`, Lorne Michaels said in the press release from NBC that since 1982, there have been three Late Night hosts starting with David Letterman, and Seth couldn`t be in better company.
