See first glimpse of Hyundai Tucson in India!

Hyundai India is all set to introduce the third-generation Tucson in the coming months. The SUV made its official re-introduction into the Indian market at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo in February. For the uninitiated, the first generation was launched in India in 2005 and was discontinued in 2010.

The country had been denied the second-gen Tucson, but the third generation has been given the green light by the Korean brand. Presently, Hyundai has begun testing the vehicle in India. In an interview with us during the Auto Expo, a Hyundai official said that the company will bring it through the CKD (completely knocked down units) route, with close to 50 per cent localization. The vehicle will compete with the likes of the Honda CR-V and the Skoda Yeti, and is expected to be priced in the vicinity of INR 17–18 lakhs.

Like the rest of the latest Hyundais, the new Tucson is also on a different tangent compared to the previous model. Based on Hyundai’s second iteration of Fluidic design language – Fluidic 2.0 – the new Tucson is a looker!

The wide hexagonal grille is flanked by the elongated, slender swept-back LED headlamps. The tail lamps come with LED graphics as well. In terms of features, it will offer Hyundai’s latest in-car entertainment system, which will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The upcoming next-generation Elantra will also feature a similar infotainment system.
