The American carmaker launched its iconic car Ford Mustang in India on Tuesday, July 12.


The Ford has brought the 6th generation of the muscle car or a pony car to India. which made its debuted in India in February and was displayed at the Auto Expo 2016.


 The car had made its international debut in December 2014. The Mustang first went on sale in late 1964. Since then, the company has rolled out more than 9 million cars across the world.

The model on offer in India have 5.0-litre Ti-VCT V8 engine which churns out power of 401PS


It also features a 4.2-inch, multi-information display, Ford’s Sync 2 infotainment system, automatic wipers, adaptive cruise control and start/stop button to give the occupants the feeling of owning luxury.


The Mustang has 8 airbags, which include knee airbags, crash sensors, safety belt pre-tensioners and Ford My Key.


The muscle car launched in India has 19-inch wheels and performance brakes along with the SYNC 2 voice control paired to an 8-inch touchscreen.


In India the top speed of the car has been electronically limited at 250 kmph


The Mustang has a ground clearance of 137mm. Its boot can hold up to 383 litres of cargo.


Despite being a 2-door car, the Mustang can seat four people. The car measures 4784mm in length, 2080mm in width and 1391mm in height. The fuel tank has a 61 litre capacity.


The car bears a price tag of around Rs  65 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
