New Delhi: Abhibus.com, an online bus ticket booking portal has been awarded with Any Time Any Where Advance Reservation (AWATAR) project by the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC).
KSRTC’s web-based passenger seat reservation system - AWATAR will help the customers to book bus tickets in advance through online web portal, mobile apps, mobile website, bus station counters, agents, M-One and Bangalore-One.
Sudhakar Reddy, CEO and Founder, Abhibus.com says, “We are delighted to win the KSRTC project. AWATAR 2.1 will aid in handling at least 8,000 concurrent requests with a minimum uptime of 99.5 percent.”
He further added, “With this order Abhibus will be having the largest market share of more than 50% in terms of hosting services for the State run transport companies and private bus operators.”
Abhibus has been providing similar solutions to Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) and 250 private operators.
AWATAR application will bring 3,500 services online including North East Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NEKRTC) and North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) under reservation.
KSRTC had started its e-booking in 2007 and the general public could book and avail the tickets from anywhere any time on the internet. Currently the revenues through advance ticketing stands approximately at 60 percent.
Till date, AWATAR had over 34 lakh online registered users; more than 550 franchisees and on an average daily 50,000 visitors on the website
