New Delhi: Almost a lakh Delhiites visit movie halls across the city to satiate their hunger for entertainment, says the Delhi Statistical Handbook, 2012, released here Tuesday.
According to the 37th issue of the handbook, brought out by the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, of the Delhi government, and released by Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit, "around 98,000 persons visit theatres daily."
"Over 88 percent households are having television sets whereas Delhi keeps rushing to theatres to watch movies every day," said the report.
"There are 154 cinemas, theatres and multiplexes in Delhi offering average 510 shows per day," it added.
According to the reports, total population of the capital has reached 16 million.
