Mumbai: He made an impressive debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Saawariya’ that proved to be a dud at the Box Office. Yet he was able to announce his arrival into the film industry loud and clear.
Ranbir Kapoor as ‘Barfi’ stole a million hearts with a performance that could even move a stone-hearted person. He has acting in his genes and has already carved a niche for himself in an industry which is currently being ruled by the Khan trinity- Aamir, Salman and Shah Rukh.
RK, as he is fondly known, has tried his hands at all genres – romance, comedy, drama etc, and is ready to broaden his horizons. Yet the actor feels he doesn’t have an aura that the Khans are bestowed with.
Talking to a daily, Ranbir said, “I got the opportunities and my stardom is part of my characters. I don`t have a personality like Salman Khan or Shah Rukh Khan that I can be myself and be successful. I have to play a character, I have to support the film by playing the role. Today cinema has changed, we can play different characters. I have been at the right time at the right place.”
The young actor, who has all the potential of becoming the next superstar, is leaving no stone unturned in reinventing himself with every film that he does. From a chocolate boy in ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ to a no-nonsense politically inclined person in ‘Rajneeti’ to an emotional and responsible boy in ‘Barfi!’, Ranbir has done it all.
So what if you don’t have a personality like Salman or Shah Rukh, you are what you are- brand Ranbir Kapoor! Sky is the limit for you young man.
