I was drug addict dad, says Colin Farrell

New York: Irish actor Colin Farrell has admitted that he “made a decision” not to change his lifestyle even after the birth of his first child in 2003 - even though he was a “drug-addicted drunk”.

“I literally said, ‘I’m not changing! I’m gonna be his friend!’ Like a [bleeping] 28-year-old drug-addicted drunk friend is exactly what my 6-week-old son needs,” he revealed in Details’ November issue. The 36-year-old actor thinks giving up the bad habit was the coolest thing that happened in his life as he has now more time to spend with his son than before, the New York Post reported. “I’ve got eight hours a day now that I didn’t have before, when I was drinking every day for 18 years . . . It’s honest, it’s real. That’s quite simply the coolest thing,” he said. ANI
