New Delhi: On Sunday, Hollywood’s most loved stars came down to Beverly Hills, Calif to take home the much-coveted Golden Globe trophies during the 70th annual Golden Globe Awards presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the awards honor achievements in film and television.
The Iran hostage thriller ‘Argo’ was awarded as the best motion picture in the drama category while Daniel Day-Lewis and Jessica Chastain took away the best performers in the same category for ‘Lincoln’ and ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ respectively.
The winner in the best motion picture comedy/musical was ‘Les Miserables’. Besides that, the movie proved lucky for actor Hugh Jackman who was chosen as the best actor comedy/musical for playing Jean Valjean in the film and actress Anne Hathaway was announced as the best supporting actress for her stint as Fantine.
Besides that, Jennifer Lawrence turned out to be the best actress for the comedy/musical category for her act in ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ thereby beating 27-time nominee Meryl Streep in the nominations race and Christoph Waltz got the trophy for being the best supporting actor in ‘Django Unchained’.
Ben Affleck’s hard work paid when he went on stage to collect his best director trophy for ‘Argo’.
