New Delhi: Maverick filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh was the only director to have worked individually with the whole Bachchan clan.
"Just realised that Ritu da (Ghosh) was the only director that all my family have worked with individually," Abhishek posted on Twitter after knowing about Ghosh`s death following a cardiac arrest at his south Kolkata residence.
Ghosh directed megastar Amitabh Bachchan in his first English language film `The Last Lear` while his wife Jaya Bachchan has worked with Ghosh in yet-to-be-released film `Sunglass`.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was also part of Ghosh`s opulent drama `Chokher Bali` and poignant love story `Raincoat`, alongside Ajay Devgn, whereas her husband Abhishek forayed into Bengali films with the late director`s 2005 film `Antarmahal`.
Condoling the death of the stellar filmmaker, Abhishek said, "Absolutely shocked with the news of the passing of Ritu da. A dear friend and a great director and a wonderful, wonderful human. RIP Rituda.
"Had the honour of working with him in `Antarmahal`. Such a fine director. Will really miss his exuberance and zest for the movies and life," Abhishek tweeted.
