Samosa, Rasgulla! Next Android OS could have an Indian name

New Delhi: In what would definitely come as a sweet, yummy or spicy news to the people of the country, the next Android Operating System could have an Indian name.

During an interaction with students at the Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University on Thursday, Google CEO Sundar Pichai responded to a query that the Android N could be given an Indian name.

Indian dessert name for Android? We might just get it, Pichai said.

Responding to questions on the next Android operating system, Pichai said, "Why do we not have Indian deserts as Android version names?” adding "When I meet my Mom, I will ask for suggestions."

However, the CEO added that only if the names could win an online poll.

Maybe we will have an online poll for the name of Android N and get an Indian name, he said.

And the name of Android N?

Well, it could be anything of Indian desserts, if it should win the poll.

Prior to Android Lollipop, there were reports that it could be named Android Samosa or Android Rasgulla. However, it was not to be.

So, do we see Android 7.0 Samosa or Android 7.0 Rasgulla soon?
